Mar 12, 2023 · From The Center. Wichita State on Saturday fired head men’s basketball coach Isaac Brown after three seasons. Brown, 53, went 48-34 during his tenure with one NCAA Tournament appearance. The team finished 17-15 this season and lost in the American Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinals. The 2021 AAC Coach of the Year, Brown was promoted to permanent head coach and became the first Black men’s basketball head coach at Wichita State. The Shockers didn’t sustain that initial success, going 15-13 (6-9 AAC) in 2021-22, and were 17-15 (9-9) this season.
